25th AUGUST to 4th SEPTEMBER 2005


The Portuguese Aeromodelling Federation - Aero Club of Portugal invites all European FAI affiliated National Air Sport Control organizations to join with a team and to participate in the European Championship for F4B and F4C classes, Control Line and Radio Control Scale for the year of 2005, in the following conditions:


DATES:


Effective : from 25th August to 4th September 2005.

Preliminary Entry Forms must be sent NLT 1st March 2005.

Official Entry Forms must be sent NLT 15th May 2005


LOCATION


Pombal - delightful old town located 150 km to the north of Lisboa, the portuguese capital.

Maps of Portugal and the region of Pombal and from the layout and the flying field will be included in this Bulletin .


SITE


Two asphaltic runway crossed with 120 X 12 meters and 250 X 12 meters, 20 meters of shoulder space on each side, located 5 km. from Pombal.

Pilot/caller area, Judges area , flightline central marquee, transmitter pound, competitors team area, spectators area, car parking area, bar, toilets, first aid and other services.

Training runway at Carriço - Pombal aeromodelling field, 17 km. far away, and Leiria airfield, 30 km far away.

One hangar of 20 X 60 meters will be at the disposal of competitors, with tables of 1x2 meters for each competitor.

TEAMS


Every National Aero Club, member of the FAI, may join the competition with a team of 3 competitors in F4B and 3 competitors in F4C, plus team manager, assistant team manager and helpers, as allowed in the 2004 FAI Sporting Code, Section 4. Each country’s supporters are also invited to attend.

The reigning 2003 European Champions in each class are invited to join the competition.





RULES


FAI Sporting Code, Section 4 (2004 edition) and amendments. Each competitor must have a valid FAI Licence and a third part insurance, valuable in Portugal.

PROTEST FEE


All protests must be presented in writing to the Contest Director at the competition and must be accompanied by a fee of 30 Euros. This fee is returned only if the protest is upheld.


AWARDS


Trophies for the top 3 classifications ( both individual and team ) in each class.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be given to all competitors classified on the first, second and third places ( both individual and team classifications ) in each class.

Souvenirs for all competitors, helpers and supporters, and a diploma of participation for each competitor and team manager.

FREQUENCIES


The allowed frequencies for radio control model aircraft in Portugal run from 35,010 Mhz to 35,200 Mhz. Other frequencies may be used at each competitors’ own risk.

Scanning of frequencies will be made systematically during all the competition.

CATERING


There will be a bar opened to the public during all the competition (paid service) on the flight site. The organization will provide lunches at the field, if expressed in the final entry form.

CLOSING CEREMONY AND BANQUET


The closing ceremony will be carried out on the airfield .

The banquet will take place at the restaurant, on the last day of the competition.



TRANSPORTATION


The organizers will provide daily transportation for jury and judges between the hotel and the flying site .

Competitors can take their cars to the flying site and park in the reserved area. Directions to the flying site will be clearly marked. The final information bulletin issued by the organization will show and describe methods of arrival to the town and to the flight site.



TRANSPORTATION OF MODELS


The organizers will provide transportation of the model containers from Lisboa or from Porto International Airports to the flying site , paid service, if expressed in the Preliminary Entry Form, at a rate to be determined, and expressed in the Bulletin 2.


FUEL


It is possible to buy fuel that will be sold by Morgan Fuels representative in Portugal, Helivoo,Lda. Available in many qualities and percentages of nitro.

Quantity and quality of fuel may be expressed in the corresponding form with the Preliminary Entry Form. Prices will be expressed in Bulletin 2.

The organization is planning a sightseeing trip to the surroundings of Pombal, on the reserve day.

Bulletin 2 will be sent in March 2005 to the contact name and address appointed by you in the annex form of Bulletin 1, returned to us with the preliminary inscriptions.
